VANGUARDE LIFEBOAT MOVES TRAINING COURSE TO CHINA FOR BETTER TRAINING EXPERIENCE AND SKILL ENHANCEMENT

As the world’s leading life-saving equipment manufacturer for the marine and oil and gas industry, Vanguarde Lifeboat has been providing training programs for service engineers and seafarers for over 20 years. In 2017, Vanguarde Lifeboat shifted its training program from ____ to the manufacturing plant located in Nantong, China for better training experience and skill enhancement in an actual operating environment.

At Vanguarde Lifeboat, we hold an intrinsic belief that the safety of equipment is only as good as the service it has. We make sure all Vanguarde’s in-house and authorized service agents are at the forefront of the industry with the understanding of all latest news and regulations as well as a comprehensive service/ repair skill to the products.

Starting this year, all Vanguarde Lifeboat’s service engineer training program will be conducted at Vanguarde (Nantong) F.R.P. Co., Ltd (a subsidiary of Vanguarde Lifeboat) in Nantong, China. The 20,000sqm manufacturing plant is equipped with a slipway, testing area, fabrication, mechanical and electrical workshops, laminating chamber and painting area.

Vanguarde Lifeboat offers a one-week training program every quarter of the year. In order to make sure all Vanguarde’s service engineers have a thorough understanding of the product, we train our engineers to work in an actual job environment and get involved in the lifeboat building process. The program will be carried out in the workshop which includes hand-on courses on all products, latest regulations familiarization, workplace emergency handling and hook retrofit program. Through this training program, we provide a framework for their jobs—the service engineers know why they do what they do. Our engineers will not only learn on how to improve their skills, but also expand their skills in problem solving and how to handle workplace situations.

The up-coming “Service Engineer Training Program” will be held on 17th April – 21st April 2017. All service agents will receive a certificate and ID card upon the end of the training program. This all-in-one training program includes the technical knowledge and skills on the followings:

  • IMO Regulation Familiarization
  • Annual Inspection and Servicing Training for lifeboat and rescue boat
  • 5 Yearly Maintenance and Overhaul Training for lifeboat and rescue boat
  • Commissioning Training
  • Davit and Winch Maintenance and Servicing Training
  • Fibreglass Repair
  • CSafe Hook Retrofit Program
